What metropolis providers are open and closed for Thanksgiving in Edmonton?

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and the City of Edmonton will be making some minor adjustments to its services to reflect this.

Most city services remain open; There are some hour adjustments, however.

Recreational facilities

All of Edmonton’s water and fitness facilities, arenas, and sports parks operate outside of the holiday season. They vary depending on the institution; You can look through anyone here.


The Edmonton Valley Zoo operates 9am to 5pm outside of the holiday hours.

City landfills

The Edmonton Waste Management Center is open Monday, October 11th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Shopping cart collection

There will be a regular collection of litter, leftover food, and seasonal garbage trucks.


Edmonton Transit will be offering Sunday service on Monday, October 11th. The timetables for LRT and buses vary depending on the route.

The transit call center and customer service centers will be closed.


No payment is required for EPark zones on the street and selected parkades on Monday 11 October.

The Edmonton City Confiscation Office will open on October 11 with reduced hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
