Welcome to HOMA: The CBC Edmonton Information at 6 ‘Home of Fashionable Artwork’

Call to all artists!

It’s no secret that the world is a very different place right now. As we all continue to take necessary precautions during COVID-19, so is the CBC Edmonton News on the 6 team.

If the @CBCEdmonton The 6 p.m. news looked different on your TV (or digital livestream) tonight because it was our first night show from @nancyjcarlsonis at home!

I’m so proud of the team that put this together so we can keep bringing you the news while staying safe! pic.twitter.com/erurCJNu5T

Host Nancy Carlson needs your help decorating her home studio. Have you played your artistic side more than usual? Did your kids create great works of art during art class at home? We want to see! Submit your creations to us so we can post them in the news at 6.

What we need from you:

We can’t wait to see what you send us!

Here are some of your submissions:

Umar’s son did this while distancing himself at home. (Umar Farooq) (Eryka Sloan) Courtney is an abstract artist and has created a number of small works inspired by social distancing. (Courtney Palmer) Joanne is proud to have received this painting from my son Mackenzie, who has Down syndrome, and to have given it to her a few years ago. Our mother loves this painting as it reminds her of a Monet painting that she was lucky enough to see at the National Australian Art Gallery when she visited Australia in 1999! (Joanne, Rose, Cynthia and grandson Mackenzie) Julien did this selfie for a school assignment this week, complete with his favorite CBC t-shirt! (Julien Scarlett-Poulin) Colors of the world tour by Jannette Rieddel (Jannette Rieddel) A beautiful abstract painting (Lynne Curtis) Another view of the ‘Mona Lisa’ (Dennis Tokarsky)
