It was a stellar night for Brookfield Residential, the real estate developer and home builder known for its Edmonton communities like Chappelle Gardens and The Orchards.

Brookfield, the big winner of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association-Edmonton Region Awards of Excellence in the 2021 edition, walked away with 13 awards – most for all of the evening’s winners.

Brookfield won the Builder of the Year – Large Volume. it won the best community for Lake Summerside, won two advertising awards (Best Digital Campaign, Best Integrated / Mixed Campaign), grabbed three in the Multi-Family / Duplex Style category, one in the Best Single Family segment and one in the Middle Part Sales, and four sales volume- Bonuses.

Brookfield was just one of many winners in the June 19th virtual event, which saw 265 finalists compete in 59 categories.

Together with Brookfield, Vicky’s Homes won as Builder of the Year – Small Volume, Cantiro as Builder of the Year – Multi-Family, Alair Homes as Renovator of the Year and Virtuo as General Member of the Year.

For Vicky Kujundzic, owner of Vicky’s Homes, the Master Builder of the Year – Small Volume winner continues an interesting trend where it has won in four of the last eight years, but only in odd years: 2015, 2017, 2019 and now 2021 .

“Builder of the Year not only recognizes our skills within an always talented group of builders, and it’s more than just building beautiful homes,” said Kujundzic. “It’s weighted and supported by highly rated customer satisfaction surveys; that is just as important to us. We value our customers very much and enjoy the friendships that result from our building process. “

Vicky’s won two more times, for Best Single Family – Any Style and for Best Direct Mail. His post, Your Staycation Reinvented, looked at the impact COVID-19 has on people’s ability to go on vacation. “Today more than ever we have families who want indoor swimming pools, sports fields and roof terraces,” added Kujundzic. “If everyone needs to spend more time at home, Vicky’s Homes can make it so much more enjoyable.”

At Cantiro, the winner of the Multi-Family Builder of the Year was named the icing on the cake.

“We have put a lot of hard work into our multi-family division at Cantiro,” said Ryan Smith of Cantiro, president of Homes and Residential Rentals. “It’s a new department – it’s about four years old now, so a lot of our first projects are still maturing right now. We are very excited. We put a lot of hard work into building our multi-family department. We are only just beginning to see the fruits of our labor. “

Cantiro also won for Best Radio Ad and Best Apartment Building – its West Block project in Glenora has won this award two years in a row.

The highest renovation award went to Alair Homes, which last won it in 2018.

Alair won three other awards – two for renovation and one for apartment building / duplex style.

In other awards, Canada Lands Co. won Best Show Home Parade (Village at Griesbach), Rohit Group of Companies’s Woodhaven Edgemont won Best New Community for the second year in a row, Landmark Homes won the Industry Leadership Award and environmental recognition awards went to Habitat Studio, Jayman Built, and Landmark.

Jayman Built won a total of eight awards, Sterling Homes seven, Rohit and Pacesetter Homes both won five, while the following also won: Ackard Contractors, Aquarian Renovations, Bedrock Homes, Carriage Signature Homes, Carrington Communities, City Homes Master Builder, Coventry Homes, Daytona Homes, Diamond Crest Homes, Excel Homes, Force Civil Solutions, Habitat Studio, Igloo Building Supplies Group, Legacy Signature Homes, Mattamy Homes, Morrison Homes, Montorio Homes, North Pointe Homes, Parkwood Master Builder, Royal LePage ArTeam Realty, San Rufo Homes and Serenity Contracting and Design.
