The Edmonton Elks announced Monday that quarterback Taylor Cornelius will be out on Friday night when the team hosts the BC Lions in the regular-season finals at The Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium.

Cornelius was hospitalized with a splenic injury after the Elks’ 28-23 loss to the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.

He was still hospitalized as of Monday, but the team said he is expected to make a full recovery.

That #Moose aren’t on the field until tomorrow, but I’d expect Tre Ford to start at QB. #CFL
