Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Visits Edmonton, Guarantees Trans Mountain “Will Be Constructed”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Edmonton, with a series of stops scheduled in front of his grand city hall on Thursday evening.

Trudeau’s day began at the Mill Woods Seniors Center, where a large crowd had gathered.

Trudeau took part in a pickle ball game and met a number of those present.

The media was told that Trudeau won’t answer any questions ahead of Thursday night’s town hall event, but he made a brief appearance on the Ryan Jespersen Show on 630 CHED earlier in the day.

During the interview, he promised support for the Trans Mountain pipeline.

“This pipeline is being built.”

“Provinces have different opinions and approaches all the time, and one of the reasons we have a national government to oversee national interests is to stand up for the interests of all Canadians, and that is exactly what I will do.”

Trudeau added that it is important to bring Alberta oil to overseas markets with “responsible projects like the Trans Mountain”.

“We can’t just be trapped in the American market. That is why this government is serious about building this long-wanted pipeline. “

Trudeau added that the state regulatory process has already addressed the issues that BC is concerned about.

“We were assured, and we did the science and we did the research, that the Kinder Morgan Pipeline poses no threat to the British Columbia coast,” he said. “Especially not considering the billions of dollars we invested in the Oceans Protection Plan.”
