Edmonton’s New Years Eve fireworks return in 2021

The fireworks are supposed to go off at midnight and last about 10 minutes

The City of Edmonton’s New Years Eve fireworks returns for 2021 and takes place in Sir Winston Churchill Square.

There’s no live entertainment this year, but the city encourages Edmonton residents to get there early to enjoy the art installations or skate on the ice rink in City Hall.

In addition to the fireworks, the city’s landmarks will be colorful to celebrate the ringing of the doorbell in 2022.

The High-Level Bridge, City Hall, Muttart Conservatory, Rossdale Power Plant, and Walterdale Bridge are illuminated in a variety of colors, according to the city.

All public transport is free from 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Passengers can use buses, LRT and DATS tariffs free of charge until 3:30 a.m. on January 1st
