Police said in a news release the suspects have been targeting 2017-2021 Discovery, Range Rover, and Sport models and are reportedly using sophisticated technology to get through the vehicle’s anti-theft systems. To date, six Land Rovers have been stolen.
“There have been several Land Rover models stolen over the last several days and we want vehicle owners to be aware of this so they can take extra precautions to protect their vehicles from theft,” said Acting Sgt. Jon Benson with the TRAP team in the release.
Police are encouraging owners of Land Rovers to park in a secure space like a garage or in a well-lit and busy area. Owners should also remove all valuables from their vehicles and use a steering wheel lock or an aftermarket GPS device if possible.
Officers continue to investigate the series of thefts and ask anyone with information to contact police.
