Edmonton Artwork Membership celebrates 100 years

Edmonton Art Club celebrates 100 years with two art exhibitions in partnership with the Art Gallery of Alberta; A Century of Mark Making 1921-2021 and Making Art and Building Community: 100 Years of the Edmonton Art Club.

A Century of Mark Making (October 30th – January 23rd) features contemporary work from the Edmonton Art Club. The focus of the exhibition is her special project with 96 6×6 birch tiles that were processed into a 4 x 6 ‘mural. The exhibition is on display at the Ledcor Theater Gallery of the Art Gallery of Alberta.

Making Art and Building Community: 100 Years of the Edmonton Art Club (November 6th – March 13th) is a retrospective commemorating the founding members of the Edmonton Art Club with works by previous members such as RW Hedley, Florence Mortimer, Lewellyn Petley-Jones and JB Taylor. The exhibition was curated by Danielle Siemens and is presented in the Poole Gallery of the Art Gallery of Alberta, presented by ATB Financial.

The Art Gallery of Alberta is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday until 7 p.m. Admission is $ 14 adults, $ 10 provincial seniors / students, children and teenagers under 18, students, and AGA members are free.
