A Life-Sized Gingerbread House Is Coming To Edmonton This Season
Designed specifically to put Edmontonians in the festive spirit, the Fairmont Hotel Gingerbread House was unveiled just in time to get the holidays started.
The life-sized gingerbread house Fairmont Hotel MacDonald is hosting is really something else. The 20-foot high masterpiece took over 600 hours of baking and construction to come to life.
The hotel’s manager said that he hopes the gingerbread house will bring people together, and into the holiday spirit this Christmas season.

You can find the Fairmont Hotel Gingerbread House in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald. Centrally located downtown Edmonton, this gorgeous holiday display is easily accessible by transit, car, or even walking if you’re up for a brisk winter jaunt.

This life-sized gingerbread house is 20 feet tall. It’s no wonder it took a full team of bakers and contractors over 600 hours to construct! At an impressive 18 feet wide, the gingerbread house is more than impressive. It will help you create holiday memories for many years to come.

When you visit the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald this year, you’re in for many treats. Beyond the incredible construction of this massively delicious gingerbread house, there’s also live music.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

The tree lighting ceremony and unveiling of this colossal baked structure was on November 16, 2022. The massive baked house will be up and on display until early January, so be sure to stop by!
Do I Need Tickets In Advance?
This fundraiser for the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton does not require you to buy tickets or pre-register. It’s open to the public, and in return for this beautiful display, you can bring toys or food as a donation.
